Architectural plants
Architectural plants are perfect for making a bold statement, adding style and panache to any garden or planting scheme. They can be used in the border to add shape, structure and stature or grown in pots and containers on the driveway, patio or a decked area. Many architectural plants have a tropical appearance. Our most popular is the Chusan Palm tree with its sturdy, hairy trunk and an array of fan-shaped laves, each divided not long, slender, splayed out fingers. One of the best varieties is cabbage palm, cordyline australis, which looks particularly effective when multiple trees of different height are grown nearby. And of course, the stunning, pre-historic tree fern with its stout trunk and fabulous rosettes of arching dark green fronds, predating even the dinosaurs.
