Early flowering perennials
Early flowering perennials are one of the delights of the spring garden, giving an incredible sense of hope and optimism for things to come after the long, dark winter nights. There are plenty of varieties to choose from to brighten your beds and borders for all garden designs, sites and situations. Bearded iris plants produce beautiful, distinctive flowers above ribbon-like foliage in late spring, while euphorbias are ideal for a more exotic appearance, available in vivid shades of scarlet and lime green. Hellebores have beautiful, nodding flowers in various shades and Brunnera plants offer large, heart-shaped, often variegated leaves and light blue flowers. Consider mixing a few swathes of spring flowering bulbs amongst your planting scheme for added colour and interest.
