Fir trees
Fir trees (Latin name Abies) are a delightful genus of evergreen conifers favoured for their large, attractive cones that sit atop branches of distinctive, flattened needles. Fir trees form a cone or pyramid shape, often with whorled branches and rounded needles with silvery undersides. Some Abies varieties are perfect for adding height and structure, making a useful backdrop to more showy plants at the rear of a shrubbery. We also supply dwarf varieties that are perfect for the rockery garden or inter-planted amongst annuals in a container or at the front of the border.
